Can a new phase of PLURALS Party transform environmental State of Bihar?
If you went around villages in Bihar and inquired about who is going to be your preferred candidate for CM (Chief Minister) post in the next State Elections, chances are the response will be vague and unsure. People are wanting to see major transformation happening in Bihar, not limited to roads, but an entire progressive and contemporary infrastructural development for the future of the people. The development pace is actually moving at snail's pace if we take a look at areas adjoining Indo-Nepal Border in the districts of East Champaran and West Champaran. The drains are overflowing, garbage is being dumped on roads, roads are on the verge of becoming a farm of ditch-land and rivers are showing high amount of toxicity.
Bihar has a vast amount of Agricultural land. Farmers mostly depend on ground water, then canal water and lastly surface & rain water for irrigation purpose. There has been large scale pollution of surface water sources due to uncontrolled usage of surface water for numerous purposes. The canal water supply channels are not maintained and remain battered and bruised. Due to low income people are migrating to cities. Cost of irrigation with diesel-powered water pumps is extremely high considering the rising cost of fossil fuel. If this continues for another 5 years we will be not just looking at depleting revenue from agriculture sector, but also a major transformation of agricultural land into real estate property. That will be the final nail on the coffin of our green conservation education.
Yet, all hope is not lost. Recently, a very young, dynamic and outspoken candidate announced through mass medium her candidature for Bihar's CM post, in the upcoming elections. She is, Pushpam Priya Choudhary (you can connect with her on Facebook: @pushpampc13). In fact, it was a delight to see for the first time a CM candidate from Bihar making people aware of her vision through district-wise Facebook Group of PLURALS Party. For e.g. If someone is a listed voter from Gopalganj they can connect directly with PLURALS through @PluralsGopalganj, and for East Champaran, through @PluralsEastChamparan.
The idea to connect with the mass through online medium and that too social media is very much welcoming and has been received with tremendous amount of positive response. It is important to see when and how she takes on the road map to election campaigns, with her vision to transform the Agriculture Sector. Her followers still wait for the lock-down to end and see her efforts with on-ground activities. If she is able to stand firm to her motive and build confidence with actual ground-work, there will be massive developmental works at rapid pace, and also making Bihar ranked among the top agriculture produce States in India.
It is important to note that the way past government departments have managed the tube-well set-ups in Bihar is an eyeopener to callousness. Though the Government has been able to bring electricity to border areas, yet the usage of it to the benefit of farmers through massive tube-well deployment and set-up still needs a boost. Nowadays, farmers can also use Solar Pumps. If Government gets into pro-active mode and consults with the companies like Ecozen Solutions for large-scale installation of Solar Pumps, people of Bihar will become more aware of its benefit to environment and green conservation. Thus, helping in reducing pollution because for that amount of energy that was to be used but replaced by solar pumps, the burning of fuel for production of same did not take place. Considering the situation of being a large-scale installation to achieve such levels of pollution control through avoiding burning of fuel. Also, Solar Pumps come with Geo-tagging that help farmers in control of their installations and its use. Sooner one thing leads to another, as maybe the next step would be to make Bihar an organic State of future. Viola!
People of Bihar in rural and agriculture areas appear to have lost faith in the system considering the depleting living standards for the past three decades. It is more like a loot of the local talent and resource, and keeping the regions in darkness and a state of confusion. It will not be a shocker if CM candidate like Pushpam Priya Choudhary is given the torch to lead her people from front into victory, denied wrongly, denied for decades.
